Chancellor of the University of Aberdeen joins esteemed company at Buckingham Palace

Presentation of Loyal Address by Privileged Bodies

The University of Aberdeen will be attending the Presentation of Loyal Addresses by Privileged Bodies, being held at Buckingham Palace today (Thursday, ) at 11.00am.

The delegation attending and addressing Her Majesty The Queen, will include the University’s Chancellor (Head of Delegation), Lord Wilson of Tillyorn; Professor C Duncan Rice (Principal); Clarissa Wright (Rector) and Alistair Mair (the Chancellor’s Assessor).

Aberdeen will be in esteemed company at the event this morning, as part of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee celebrations. Joining Aberdeen, who are also included in the list of privileged bodies, will be the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge; The Royal Society; The Royal Academy of Arts; and The Corporation of the City of London, among others.

Lord Wilson of Tillyorn will address The Queen, on behalf of the University. Once all the Addresses have been delivered, The Queen will reply to all those assembled.

The Ceremony will be followed by a Reception in the Picture Gallery at which The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will also be present.

On May 28 this year Her Majesty will visit the University, to address the Scottish Parliament when it meets for the first time in Aberdeen, at King's College.
