The University of Aberdeen welcomes the announcement today (Thursday ) of funding for teaching and research from the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council (SHEFC).
In the context of the 4% increase in resources available to SHEFC, the University has achieved an overall increase of 5.1% in its core funding for 2002/03.
Aberdeen has received Research funding of £9.7million, representing a 9.3% increase over the period 2001/02. This recognises the significant improvements achieved by the University in the 2001 Research Assessment Exercise.
