The University of Aberdeen will tomorrow (Thursday May 2nd) launch a unique international business programme, The International Management Programme in Executive Leadership (IMPEL), to senior Scottish business leaders with a live video link from Professor Jeffrey Pfeffer, Stanford University, USA.

The IMPEL course has been designed to equip senior business leaders with the theoretical and practical skills needed to lead their organisations more effectively and to compete in a global marketplace. Participants in the 18 month programme will benefit from the help, support and experience of leading business thinkers and academics associated with some of the world's top business schools, including Stanford University, USA and IESE, Barcelona.

The IMPEL has been developed by the University of Aberdeen Department of Management Studies in conjunction with Leadership Excellence. Dr Dennis Tourish, Programme Director said: "This exciting international programme will offer a unique opportunity for senior business leaders to learn from the world's best companies. World experts in the various fields of executive leadership will facilitate learning with the aim of transforming participants individual leadership style and more importantly their businesses."

Mhairi Cousins, Leadership Excellence Development Manager said: "Having been involved with international business development and leadership programmes over a number of years, I have seen at first hand how individuals and their businesses have been transformed by exposure to some of the foremost business thinkers in the world. I can honestly say that the IMPEL course will be a life-changing experience for those that take part."

An invited audience of senior Scottish business leaders will hear a number of presentations on the IMPEL at the King's College Conference Centre, University of Aberdeen tomorrow (Thursday May 2nd) at 4pm.
