The Scottish Parliament will receive a Bon Accord welcome when it arrives in Aberdeen this evening.
A special reception will be held at the Maritime Museum on the eve of the historic sitting of Parliament at King's College (May 28-30).
The Presiding Officer David Steel, Ministers and MSPs will be attending the reception (6pm to 8pm), hosted by Aberdeen City Council and the University of Aberdeen.
Sir David, Lord Provost Margaret Smith and Professor Duncan Rice, Principal of the University will be speaking at the reception. And there is also a treat for MSPs - BBC broadcaster Robbie Shepherd will explain the "Parliamentary Guide to North-east Doric".
Aberdeen harbour Board is sponsoring the reception.
Aberdeen City Council Leader Len Ironside said: "It is going to be a remarkable week, with not only the Parliament sitting in Aberdeen, but the Queen making her Golden Jubilee visit to the city on Tuesday.
"We will make everyone welcome on Monday evening and it is pleasing that almost every MSP has accepted our invitation to attend."
