The University of Aberdeen will be holding its third University-wide pre-application Open Day next month, following on from the success of last year's event. The Open Day is now one of the biggest events in the University calendar, attracting over 3,500 visitors last year and the University is keen to repeat this achievement at this year's event to be held on Tuesday, August 27.
Preparations for the Open Day are well underway. This afternoon (Tuesday, July 30) marks the initial construction of one of the major highlights on display next month, the Big Brother style 'live' DiAry Room. During the event, visitors will be able to enter the booth on display at King's College campus and record on film comments about the University and their experiences during the Open Day. A prize will be given to the best comment, chosen by the University Rector, Clarissa Dickson Wright.
Clare Gadie, Deputy Director of Marketing, said: "The University is looking forward to having the Big Brother style 'live' DiAry Room, on display at the Open Day next month. This has all been made possible by generous sponsorship from Jarvis UPP. I am delighted that representatives from Jarvis UPP are here in Aberdeen today and will be able to see the initial building of the DiAry Room take place."
The Open Day will provide visitors with an excellent opportunity to learn about how much the University of Aberdeen has to offer and also about higher education in general.
An exciting programme has been devised to showcase the University and give applicants a taste of student life during the Open Day, all relating to the theme 'Innovation - Building on a History of Excellence'.
