The University of Aberdeen's annual oil industry training event celebrates its 10th anniversary this year with its Overview of the North Sea Oil and Gas Industry Conference taking place at the University of Aberdeen on 7th & 8th November 2002.
The chairman of the two-day event is confirmed as being Professor John Wils, UKOOA's Director for Operations and Technical Affairs who said; "The offshore oil and gas industry is one of Britain's most important sectors. It is a major contributor to the nation's wealth, as well as an engine house for technological innovation and expertise. This event offers an invaluable opportunity to find out more about how the industry works and to understand the processes and issues to consider from initial exploration stage to production."
Designed for non-specialists, the two day intensive business training conference provides a comprehensive overview of the disciplines and functions that make up the oil industry. Previous delegates have included people working in Human Resources, finance and law, public sector, marketing and PR as well as those new to the oil and gas sector. Nikki Musgrave of Prospect CPD, organisers of the event said; "The Overview is a must for anyone who requires them to know a bit more about the oil and gas sector whether they work in it directly or have clients in the industry. It is very much about enhancing effectiveness at work and gaining confidence when talking with colleagues or clients about the industry."
The event is expected to be sold out, with early booking encouraged. A discount applies to all bookings made before 30 August. Full details are available from Prospect CPD tel: 01224 272523 or website: www.cpd.abdn.ac.uk/oiloverview/
