The annual one-day meeting is intended to enable astronomers and those interested in astronomy in Scotland to present, and to see, a broad selection of what is currently going on in Scottish astronomy. The meeting focuses on research but also encompasses teaching and 'public understanding' initiatives.
The Aberdeen event will feature a number of presentations by both younger and senior research workers with the principle lectures given by Professor Keith Horne of St Andrews University, talking about 'The Search for Extra-Solar Planets' and Dr John Reid, University of Aberdeen who will give a brief history of astronomers from the North-east of Scotland in his talk, 'Stars of the North East'.
