During the morning, participants will be split into various teams to compete in a practical, hands-on activity, The Salters' Challenge in which they will use their analytical skills to solve a number of problems. The afternoon will be spent competing in the University Challenge followed by a fun lecture on chemistry. The day will end with a Prizegiving at which the winning teams will be awarded cash prizes for their schools and individual prizes for each team member.
The Salters' Festival of Science at the University of Aberdeen is supported by Mobil North Sea Ltd (MNSL), a subsidiary of ExxonMobil, as part of its Growing School Links Programme to help schools work in the area of science, technology, maths, environmental education and careers advice.
