The University of Aberdeen has this week announced details of its first ever Graduate Training Programme. Adverts have been placed in the Scottish press and University Careers Offices circulated with details of a new Graduate Trainee position for an 18 month placement and work experience in University Administration.
University Administration currently has nine departments which support the University of Aberdeen in achieving its strategic aims. The new Graduate Trainee will receive training in several departments within University Administration during an 18 month period commencing in September 2003. This may include the Registry, Directorate of Marketing, Research and Innovation or Finance.
Caroline Inglis, Director of Human Resources said; "We recognise the exceptional wealth of talent that exists amongst new graduates and plan to establish this new trainee position within University Administration."
It is anticipated that the Graduate Trainee will continue into permanent employment within University Administration and develop a successful long term career in this important function. The successful applicant will be able to apply for any internally advertised positions and will be encouraged to study for any relevant professional qualifications.
