The University of Aberdeen has appointed Angus Donaldson as Director of Estates.
Angus, previously Director of Property Development, will increase his current responsibilities and now has senior responsibility for the management of the University's estate.
Speaking on his new appointment, Angus said: "I am very pleased to have the opportunity to lead such a committed and professional Estates team. Given the dynamic nature of our portfolio, there will be few quiet moments and I am looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead."
The Estates section is responsible for the management of more than 3 million sq ft of premises, located principally on four sites across the city - at King's College, Foresterhill, Hilton and Marischal College.
Angus joined the University in 1993 from a Glasgow-based property firm, and has since held a range of management posts within the Estates section.
An Aberdeen land economy graduate and Chartered Surveyor, Angus is the present Chair of the Scottish Universities Directors of Estates Committee and Chair of the Scottish Universities Valuation and Rating Committee. In 1997, he was awarded the Robbie Ewan Fellowship to study best practice in estate management in universities in Canada and the US.
Steve Cannon, Secretary to the University, said: "Angus has extensive estate management experience and his knowledge of Aberdeen's estate will be invaluable. His expertise in the field of property development will be particularly important as we seek to make our estate work harder for us in the years to come."
Angus will take up his new responsibilities from this week and will report directly to the Secretary to the University.
