University Music at the University of Aberdeen will next week (Tuesday, December 2) welcome Bradyworks an outstanding contemporary music group from Canada performing for the first time in the United Kingdom.
Composer and guitarist Tim Brady will bring his unique ensemble Bradyworks to the UK with concerts in Aberdeen and London. Bradyworks, an outstanding new music group from Canada, combines contemporary chamber music, jazz, rock and electroacoustic music. The group's instrumentation - combining electric guitar and saxophone with traditional chamber music forces and live electronics - creates a unique sound world with a vast array of timbres and performance traditions. The group also has a strong interest in contemporary vocal chamber repertoire. Since 1997 the group has expanded its repertoire with a focus on electroacoustic elements such as tape and live electronics.
The ensemble have been praised by critics across Canada and the United States. During the visit Bradyworks will be recording for the BBC in London - for the "Hear and Now" Radio 3 programme.
The Concert takes place at 5:15pm in the Cowdray Hall, Aberdeen. Tickets £7.50 and £5 are available from Aberdeen Box Office tel: 01224 641122 or at the door until sold out.
