Easter fun for kids at the Natural History Centre
With the Easter school holidays approaching next week, young intrepid animal explorers are being invited to come along to the University of Aberdeen to have some hands-on fun. The youngsters will in Bio-puppets, find out about animal movement and be allowed to hold, not only stick insects, beetles and snails but some fantastic fire salamanders.
The activities, which are for children already at primary school, have been organised by the University of Aberdeen Natural History Centre and will also involve the children making some special puppets which the children will be able to take home as a keepsake.
Mandy Tulloch, Development Co-ordinator at the Natural History Centre, said: "Bio-puppets is going to be great fun! We'll be using live animals and museum specimens to explore how animals move and then get creative and make some puppets to take home. The activities have been designed to allow children to get as much hands-on experience as possible."
The workshops are for primary-aged children and will run from Monday 5 - Friday 9 and Monday 12 - Friday 16 April, being repeated each day, starting at 10.30am and finishing at 12 noon. Admission is free of charge but booking is essential. Further information is available from Mandy Tulloch, tel: (01224) 493288 or email: m.tulloch@abdn.ac.uk ENDS
