Fun in the sun with Nature Tots
PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES, MONDAY - FRIDAY, 9 - 13 AUGUST
Woodland animals, dinosaur trees, swirling experiments and giant bubbles are just some of the activities on offer to the under 5s at the University of Aberdeen this summer.
The events are part of the Nature Tots series, which is being run by the University's Natural History Centre. Nursery children and their parents can explore the themes of science and trees through hands-on activities, which have been especially designed for this age group.
Mandy Tulloch, Development Co-ordinator at the Natural History Centre, said: "The Natural History Centre is here for everyone to explore our amazing living world and that includes the very young. Most under 5s are fascinated by nature and the environment and these events aim to build on that enthusiasm.
"Nature Tot events are designed to involve children and their parents in the environment. We'll be using the University's fantastic Zoology Museum and Cruickshank Botanic Garden in these summer sessions to explore the science of colour as well as find out about trees and woodland animals. It's going to be great fun!"
The week of events runs from Monday 9 to Friday 13 August. Rainbow Science runs from 10.30 to 11.30am and is repeated daily. Terrific Trees is on from 2.30 to 3.30pm and is also repeated daily. Admission is free and all children need to be accompanied by an adult. Advance booking is not required.
