Kids and creepy crawlies

The marvels of minibeasts will be unveiled to pre-schoolers when they visit the University of Aberdeen this Friday (May 29).

The Natural History Centre is staging the latest in its series of Nature Tots and this month's theme is creepy crawlies.

The two to five year olds will take a trail through the Cruickshank Botanic Garden looking for the hiding places of tiny beasties.

They will also go indoor pond dipping to see some underwater creatures and get the chance to get up close and personal with snails, spiders and slaters.

Sandra Bisset, Education Assistant, said: "Little ones love to explore nature and our Creepy Crawlies sessions are a great way for them to interact with the natural world.

"Our visitors will enjoy a great sense of discovery going out into the Cruickshank Botanic Garden and looking under logs and stones realising that little beasties are everywhere."
