Kids, beasties and travels around the world

Young children will tomorrow (Friday, February 27) see some of the creatures encountered by one of the world’s famous scientists.

They will also hear a bit about the travels undertaken by the naturalist Charles Darwin.

The insights will be given at Around the World - the latest in the ever popular series of Nature Tots sessions organised by the University of Aberdeen's Natural History Centre.

Tomorrow's workshops link in with this month's celebrations of 200 years since Darwin's birth.

Sandra Bisset, Education Officer at the University's Natural History Centre, said: "Nature Tots are a fun way for young children to learn more about world around them.

"These latest sessions will see our little visitors tour our Zoology Museum where they will learn about the different countries Darwin visited.

"The youngsters will also see Goliath beetles, enormous butterflies a three toed sloth and a koala."

A few places are still available for the sessions that last around an hour and run between 10am until 12pm and 2pm and 4pm. To book your free place call 01224 274545.
