Following the merger in June this year of the University of Aberdeen and the Rowett Research Institute to form the University of Aberdeen Rowett Institute of Nutrition and Health, an official agreement has been announced between the University and the Trade Union which represented staff at the RRI.
The University has now formally recognised the Prospect Trade Union in respect of the Rowett Institute of Nutrition and Health staff who transferred to the University upon merger.
As part of this agreement, the University will officially meet with Prospect representatives at least twice a year in the Consultation and Negotiating Committee (CNC).
The main emphasis of these meetings will be to share information and to consult and negotiate on the terms and conditions under which Rowett Institute of Nutrition and Health staff are employed.
The University is looking forward to a positive and constructive working relationship with Prospect.
The Rowett Research Institute merged with the University of Aberdeen on 30June, creating a world class centre of research in nutrition and health.
Embedded within the University's College of Life Sciences and Medicine, the new University of Aberdeen Rowett Institute of Nutrition and Health positions Aberdeen firmly at the forefront of international research in nutrition and its impact on health.
