The work of an University of Aberdeen student was recognised at a recent gathering in Glasgow.
Jonas Sauer received a poster prize for his project entitled Functional integration of GABAergic neurons into hippocampal neuronal network at the fifth meeting of Scottish Neuroscience Group.
During his work he used state-of-the-art electrophysiological techniques to examine a specific brain cell which plays a key role in the processing of information.
Jonas studied Molecular Medicine in Freiburg in Germany and joined the University's Institute of Medical Sciences in January 2008 to continue his studies in the lab of Dr Marlene Bartos.
