Postgraduates gather for Celtic conference

The first conference for Celtic postgraduate students in Scotland takes place this week at King’s College.

Students researching in the field of Celtic and its associated subject areas, including archaeology, history, and language and literature, are gathering at the MacRobert Building from September 3-4.

Hosted by Celtic scholars from the School of Language and Literature, the conference will include papers given in Gaelic as well as English.

Keynote addresses will be given my Dr Michelle MacLeod, Lecturer in Gaelic at the University of Aberdeen and former Language Planning Manager with Bord na Gaidhlig; and Professor William Gillies, Chair of Celtic at the University of Edinburgh.

Conference co-ordinator Lindsay Milligan said the event would support the early work of postgraduate researchers working in the field of Celtic and its associated studies.

More information about the conference can be found at http://www.abdn.ac.uk/celtic/celtic_pg_conf.hti
