The University of Aberdeen won the 13th annual Aberdeen Asset Management Universities Boat Race on the River Dee on Sunday, defeating rivals Robert Gordon University by a length and a quarter in a time of 8 minutes 3.4 seconds.
Although beaten, RGU’s time of 8 minutes 7.6 seconds was their best ever.
After the race, Aberdeen Asset Management announced that they would be continuing their sponsorship of the event for a further five years.
A delighted Emma Grimshaw, President of the University of Aberdeen Boat Club, said: "It was a really fast crew and it was an amazing race and well done to RGU for the part they played too.
"This is a major event on our calendar and the news that AAM is continuing to support it is fantastic and very much appreciated."
It was a clean sweep for the University of Aberdeen, who have now won the main race on twelve occasions, with victories in both the 2nd team race and the Alumni race while Northsound triumphed in the media race, ahead of STV and the Evening Express.
