The University of Aberdeen is hosting a special event for parents of prospective students later this month to find out more about the University and student life in the city.
The Parents' Information Evening will provide the ideal opportunity for parents to ask pertinent questions, meet members of staff, and to generally find out more about Higher Education and how they can help their sons and daughters through the important process of applying to University.
Rachel Sandison, Head of Student Recruitment and Admissions at the University of Aberdeen, said the success of these evenings has made them an important annual event in the University calendar. She said: "University is a daunting experience for new students as well as for their parents. We want to be sure that our Institution offers new students help in finding their feet, making friends, settling into their studies and into student life. Parents too have an extremely important part to play in the process and are sometimes unsure of how to find the answers to their questions."
"Aberdeen has a distinguished reputation for teaching and research, but we are equally proud of our strong student support network, which provides expert guidance in both academic and personal matters.
"We are looking forward to welcoming parents of prospective students who will be hearing from experienced staff from the University's Student Recruitment and Admissions Service (SRAS) on important issues like finance, accommodation, admissions and general welfare."
The Parents' Information Evening will be held on Friday, February 15, in King's College Conference Centre, King's Quad, Old Aberdeen. Refreshments will be available from 6.30pm followed by the presentation from SRAS staff at 7.00pm.
