The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Grampian raised £5,355.00 for The Matthew Hay Project at their recent Annual Dinner held at the Marcliffe
The canny accountants asked everyone eligible to sign up to Gift Aid, which is a scheme where if you are a taxpayer and make a donation to a charity, the charity is able to reclaim the tax already paid on this gift.
The majority of guests signed up and this boosted the total of funds raised to £6,226.90.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) is the world's first professional body of accountants, receiving it's Royal Charter in 1854. There are over 1000 members based in the Grampian Area and the local area committee meet every 2 months in Aberdeen.
