A record-breaking number of employers from across Scotland’s legal sector will attend the University of Aberdeen Law Fair next week.
Sponsored by Paull and Williamsons, the event is the fourth of its kind and takes place on Monday, October 8, in Elphinstone Hall, from 11am – 3pm.
Employers representing a diverse range of employment opportunities from across the legal spectrum will be represented at the fair, which is targeted specifically at law students but is open to all to attend.
In total, there will be 37 law firms and related organisations attending who will be recruiting for trainees in 2008, 2009 and vacation placements. Established names such as, Paull and Williamsons, Dickson Minto and Dundas and Wilson will be among the companies represented.
Tracey Innes, Careers Adviser with the University of Aberdeen's Careers Service, said: "We are delighted to have such a range of organisations yet again, and a record number of employers attending this year's Law Fair.
"We would encourage students to grasp this opportunity to meet with a huge range of legal sector employers. Private firms in Aberdeen and many from the central belt will be represented as will a variety of public sector legal organisations.
"By talking directly with company representatives, students will be able to evaluate not only which career path is open to them but which best fit their own personal needs and talents.
"For those students who have specific plans for the future, the Law Fair is an ideal opportunity to impress employers with their knowledge and expertise. For many firms, the fair represents the start of the recruitment process"
