An annual survey has put the University of Aberdeen near the top of the tree for student satisfaction.
The National Student Satisfaction (NSS) survey placed Aberdeen 2nd in Scotland in the 'overall satisfaction' ratings, and joint 16th out of the 137 institutions surveyed in the UK.
Final year undergraduate students completed a questionnaire this summer covering a range of questions on teaching, assessment and feedback, academic support, learning resources, and personal development.
This is the first year the University has taken part in the survey.
Angela Fraser, Student Association President, said: "Aberdeen really is a great place to come and study and continues to prove as popular as ever with students. The teaching, support and resources available are generally all excellent and it's great to see the University receive such a strong endorsement from students."
Cathy Macaslan, Vice-Principal for Learning and Teaching, added: "It's encouraging to see that the time and effort put in by so many staff has been reflected by the positive response in the NSS survey."
But she said the University would not be resting on its laurels.
"There is always more that can be done and we will continue to strive to ensure that we provide excellence in teaching and support for our students."
The NSS survey is one of the indicators used in many of the league tables produced by the national press. The 2007 results will be used in next year's tables, and will likely push the University higher up the rankings.
