Over the weekend, fans of young wizard Harry Potter were able to get their hands on J K Rowling’s most eagerly-awaited book. The last tale of Harry Potter, the young wizard who inspired a generation of readers who might never have picked up a book, has been told.
And, the University of Aberdeen has joined forces with Blackwell Bookshop to celebrate the launch of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
Harry fans have been invited to join us on Tuesday, July 24 in the Old Town House, Old Aberdeen for competitions, prizes and, of course readings from the new book by sensational storyteller, Sheena Blackhall.
The Potter-themed events being staged are free of charge and have been fully subscribed. Around 30 lucky fans booked tickets to the events, the majority of which are relations of members of staff. All the children are aged between 6 - 14 years.
Two sessions will be taking place during the day between:
2.00pm - 3.00pm
3.15pm - 4.15pm
There will be spot prizes for the best Harry Potter themed costume!
