Creepy crawly fun is on the cards this Friday (June 29) at the University of Aberdeen.
Around 80 under 5-year-olds are expected to descend on the University's Natural History Centre to find out more about marvellous minibeasts.
The youngsters will be out foraging for tiny creatures in the University's leafy Cruickshank Botanic Gardens.
They will be able to get up close and personal with stick insects and get a chance to fish in an indoor pool for some underwater pond animals.
There will also be a collection of the Centre's beastie specimens including exotic butterflies, Goliath beetles and crazy spider's webs.
The children can then get creative and make an arts and crafts beastie of their own which they will be able to take home.
Organiser Sandra Bisset said: "Little ones are fascinated by little beasties so we are expecting this to be a really popular event.
"Minibeasts are great to learn about as they can tell us a lot about the nature environment as a whole. Understanding the smallest of the world's animals is very important and helps young people develop their sense of the environment."
The Marvellous Minibeasts sessions take place on Friday between 10 am and noon and 2pm and 4pm. Some places are still available but booking is essential – telephone 01224 274545.
