Teachers have still got time to book their place on the University of Aberdeen’s Summer School.
The week-long programme takes place in the MacRobert Building on King's College Campus from August 13-17 and offers the chance to take a wide range of continuous professional development (CPD) courses.
Teachers looking to refresh their approach to learning and teaching, take steps towards qualifications in leadership and management, or commence the Chartered Teacher programme are all encouraged to sign up before the June 16 closing date. Courses are also provided for those qualified teachers considering a return to the classroom.
"This will be an excellent opportunity to get together with educational professionals from all over the country," said Leila Holm, CPD Co-ordinator at the School of Education. "As well as a wide range of CPD courses to choose from, there will be opportunities to attend presentations given by keynote speakers who are leaders in their field."
The Summer School also includes a wine reception, evening events with music and a ceilidh in Elphinstone Hall. The programme for the week offers both short courses (non award bearing) and award bearing (postgraduate) courses. Applicants can choose courses of two, three or four and a half days' duration.
The closing date for applications has been extended to 20th June 2007 and applications should be faxed or posted to Margaret Watt, Summer School Administrator, School of Education, MacRobert Building, King's College, Aberdeen AB24 5UA.
