Ever wanted to be your own boss? Learn practical business skills? Make your CV look more appealing? Meet successful businessmen and women and learn how they succeeded?
Well the event being held on the 8th of November from 7 pm in Tiger Tiger can help you with all of those and more!
The Student Enterprise Society’s first event is a Smart/casual evening reception with drinks and a buffet featuring inspirational speakers, and an introduction to speed networking. It’s also the perfect opportunity to find out what the Student Enterprise Society can do for you. Even if you don’t want to start up your own business we can help you gain real skills and experience that graduate recruiters value.
One of our speakers is Stuart Ebdy, a local entrepreneur and owner of White Spark Promotions, the printer for the vast majority of flyers you see advertising nightclubs an Aberdeen. He’s a University of Aberdeen dropout who started up his company 2 days after leaving his Entrepreneurship course and has gone on to great success and has recently be awarded the Grampian Business Award.
The event is the launch pad for what we want to do in the coming year and is also the time when we will launch the local heat of the Business Plan Competition. The 4 finalists of which will go through to the Scottish Institute for Enterprise’s competition where the top prize is £10,000! We’re not going to announce the precise details of how you enter or what the prizes are for the local competition until the event on the 8th of November and then the following week for everyone else, so if you want to find out first, come to the event on the 8th of November. Tickets are FREE and are available from the Careers Service reception.
