The Aberdeen University Debater is hosting a special forum tonight (Tuesday, September 19) on Muslim communities in the UK as part of the Freshers’ Week activities.
The forum will consist of a panel of guest speakers who will offer their views on the feelings within Muslim communities in the aftermath of the Iraq war and the London bombings last July. This will be followed by an open discussion where the audience will have the chance to pose questions to the panellists.
Vice-President of Debater, Karen Reid, said she hoped the discussion would cover a wide range of topics, including the UK’s foreign policy. She said: “We hope this event will give people a better insight into a variety of issues, and enable them to make more informed viewpoints.
“Forum-style debates are a new addition to our calendar for this year and we hope that they will allow for far greater audience participation."
The Forum will be held tonight at 7.30pm in New Kings 1, University of Aberdeen.
