An Aberdeen Computing Science student’s video about pancakes has become a worldwide hit after he put it on the internet.
Twenty three year old University of Aberdeen student, James Provan, shot the short film of him making his favourite snack in the kitchen of his Aberdeen flat.
And the pancake movie – complete with James’ own soundtrack - has flipped him to worldwide fame.
His film, which was posted on the YouTube website, has received hundreds of thousands of hits and has been seen by millions of TV viewers all over the world. The film’s song, which James also sings, is currently sitting at number three in the Israeli radio charts.
James said: "I am quite overwhelmed. It is very exciting and I have already had various companies contacting me to ask if I would be interested in directing their television adverts and internet videos."
The film, which shows James getting out of bed in the morning and cooking the pancakes, was filmed using a home video camera.
He said: "I make pancakes a lot and some days I eat up to 30 of them, so I figured I would take the world into my home and show them pancakes.
"It took me a week to make, and then I put it on YouTube.
"Almost immediately I got an email from ABC's Good Morning America asking for permission to feature it on their programme.”
James plans to return to the second year of his University course next month.
