University of Aberdeen graduates from around the world have voted to elect energy industry specialist Jacquelynn Craw and leading city solicitor Joan Catto as their representatives on the University Court.
Aberdeen graduate Ms Craw (LLB 1989) is a Director, Company Secretary and Manager, Legal and Corporate Responsibility, for Talisman Energy (UK) Limited.
Ms Craw is looking forward to taking part in the management of the University. She said: “It is a wonderful honour to be elected to represent the graduate community and to help ensure the continued provision of high quality, life long learning in our own community.”
Joan Catto was educated in Aberdeen and went on to graduate from the University (LLB) in 1966. She is a partner at Ledingham Chalmers, where she specialises in Family Law. She has served for the last four years as a Court member and is delighted to have been re-elected.
Lady Catto said: “It’s a great privilege to be elected to the University Court. I have enjoyed serving as a Court member for the last four years, and bringing my experience and professional skills to the work of various committees.”
They have been duly elected to serve as General Council Assessors to the University Court for a period of four years, commencing 1 October 2006.
The election of General Council Assessors takes place every two years. This year there were three candidates for the two vacancies, and General Council members, which included University graduates from all over the world, voted in the election earlier this month.
The next election for General Council Court Assessors will take place in 2008.
