Two of the world’s most talented soloists, who originally hail from the North-east, will unite for a concert in Aberdeen this weekend fresh from appearances in New York and Sydney.
Lisa Milne, an internationally-renowned opera singer who is currently working with Glyndebourne Opera, will return to Aberdeen from a highly successful performance in New York. Lisa will be joined by tenor Andrew Locke-Nicholson, who has recently completed a season at Sydney Opera House.
Finally, Alan Watt (bass) completes the triple bill at this Sunday’s concert (March 19), which also features the University of Aberdeen’s Choral Society and Chamber Orchestra.
The concert is a major highlight of the University’s spring season and will be conducted by Dr Roger Williams, Director of University Music, featuring music by Hadyn.
Dr Williams said: “The two soloists, Lisa Milne and Andrew Locke-Nicholson, have travelled the world to get to Aberdeen! The fact that the three soloists – all recognised internationally – are all from Aberdeen and are returning for this concert confirms their commitment to their home city as well as the esteem in which they hold the University and its music-making.
“It is a great privilege to work with such soloists who are returning to share their wealth of experience with us here in Aberdeen.
“The performance will be a memorable one and is one of the highlights of one of our very best seasons.”
This Sunday’s concert takes place in St Andrew’s Cathedral, King Street, Aberdeen at 7.45pm.
