The University today played host to a key delegation from the International Medical University in Malaysia.
Several of their students come here to study on our MBChB course and the group are in the UK visiting their Scottish, Irish and English partner medical schools.
Professor Neva Haites, Head of Aberdeen’s College of Life Sciences and Medicine, and Professor Stephen Logan, the University’s Senior Vice-Principal, were among those who met the overseas visitors.
The visitors included Dr Abu Bakar Suleiman, who is the President and Vice Chancellor of the International Medical University (IMU). Also addressed as Tan Sri, Dr Suleiman was a former Director General of Health for Malaysia before he retired from government service.
Dr Mei Ling Young, the Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor of IMU, and Executive Director of the company which owns the private University, was also present.
Professor Victor Lim, the University’s Dean of Medicine, Pharmacy and Health Sciences was
also here. He is an infectious diseases expert and former head of the country's Infectious Disease Research Centre.
