Preparations for the University of Aberdeen’s annual Open Day are well underway and bookings for this year’s event are soaring. It is anticipated that upwards
A packed programme of events has been planned to showcase the University, ranging from presentations and departmental activities, to exhibitions, demonstrations and campus tours.
The University is currently investing £48 million on infrastructure and facilities programmes, which will benefit students of the future. A number of major strategic projects are currently in progress, ranging from new buildings, infrastructure upgrades and major refurbishments, together with the restoration of a number of its unique historic buildings.
Visitors will be able to attend a party at The Union, stay overnight in University Halls of Residence, meet with staff, attend mini-lectures and sample student life. A Parents’ Evening has also been arranged for the evening before the Open Day, to be held at Marischal Museum with the chance to see the stunning Mitchell Hall, site of the Universities graduation ceremonies.
The School of Medicine at Foresterhill will also have an interesting programme, including interactive demonstrations at the Clinical Skills Centre, a careers presentation and general information on the University.
Visitors can come on their own or as part of a school party. Parents, teachers and guidance staff are also invited to join us. There will be a Chill Out Zone especially for them to get away from the hustle and bustle and talk to key academics about the University.
