Aberdeen students take part in Rectorial Elections

Students at the University of Aberdeen will today (Thursday) vote for their new Rector.

The two candidates, Robin Harper, Green Party MSP, and Hamish MacKay, Aberdeen Media Consultant, will go head to head as the students cast their vital votes.

The election runs at various venues throughout the University’s three campuses at King’s College, Foresterhill, and Hilton, plus Hillhead and Crombie-Johnston Halls, from 8am – 7pm.

Members of the press are invited to attend the count, which takes place from 7.20pm onwards in the Court Room, University Office, King’s College. There will be an adjacent area with light refreshments for the media to wait for the result which is expected to be declared by the Senior Vice-Principal at around 8.30pm.
