The University of Aberdeen defeated their Robert Gordon counterparts by four and a half lengths to win the Aberdeen Asset Management City of Aberdeen Universities boat race on the River Dee for an incredible tenth year in a row.
Victorious president Colin Williamson was absolutely delighted to keep the record intact. “To be honest, I never felt we were in any danger of losing although the pressure was all on us as we were odds on favourites. We’d worked hard for this and we’ve a great crew who responded brilliantly to the challenge.”
RGU President Emma Fisher was magnanimous in defeat. “It was a good race in extremely difficult rowing conditions and we can have no complaints. They were the better team on the day.”
