The University of Aberdeen has been ranked 6th in the UK for Anthropology and Archaeology (out of 27 institutions), 7th in the UK for Earth and Marine Sciences (out of 36 institutions) and 20th for Geography (out of 67 institutions) by the Guardian University Guide 2023.
This latest success for the School of Geosciences comes as the University of Aberdeen has achieved its highest ever overall ranking, climbing 7 places to 13th in the UK.
Unlike other national league tables, the Guardian University Guide focuses exclusively on teaching and student-facing metrics.
The Guardian University Guide 2023 reflects the School's outstanding results in the National Student Survey (NSS) announced earlier this year, with Aberdeen ranked:
- 1st in the UK for overall student satisfaction in Human Geography
- 4th in the UK for overall student satisfaction in Earth Sciences
- 4th in the UK for overall student satisfaction in Forensic and Archaeological Sciences
- 14th in the UK for overall student satisfaction in Physical Geographical Sciences
