The University of Aberdeen Chamber Choir have recently completed a successful and well-attended tour of the Orkney Isles and North Scotland.
The choir, conducted by Sam Paul, gave performances in Kirkwall and Dornoch Cathedrals as well as a concert at Stromness Town Hall and an evensong at Kirkwall. All concerts were extremely well attended, with excellent local reviews and much positivity. In a varied programme, the choir gave world premiere performances of pieces by departmental composers Dr Phillip Cooke and Dr Gemma McGregor as well as pieces by alumni Sarah Rimkus and Ed Jones. Plans for 2022-23 include the premiere of Phillip Cooke's 'Coronach' for choir and cello in November and a recording of Christmas music next summer.
