Dr Jane Forner (Teaching Fellow in Music) has recently published a short article in the Opera Quarterly as part of a review colloquy on Marina Abramović's 'Seven Deaths of Maria Callas'. An opera-project premiered at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich in September 2020 via livestream, which has recently continued to tour in Europe in full staging, the work sees Abramović morph into seven operatic heroines associated with Callas, supported by actor Willem Dafoe and live opera singers, in a remarkable multi-media performance.
