What is happening?
Some file storage services will be unavailable for brief periods between 8pm on Thursday 23 September and 4am on Friday 24 September.
The main areas at risk are:
H Drives
Shared drives
Team drives
What should you do?
If you are planning to work on documents that are stored on the affected shared drives during this period, please save your work locally onto your hard drive or a USB drive. After this period, copy these files back to the shared drive to enable them to be backed up overnight.
Why is this happening?
We are installing critical software updates on the University storage servers known to us as the Isilon storage. Each storage server has to reboot during the installation.
