New License updates
What is happening?
SPSS and AMOS users may see an expiry warning upon starting the software and may be prompted to update their license. The license expires on Friday, 31 July 2021, but the software will continue to run until 31 August 2021. Users will need to upgrade or renew the license before this date.
What should you do?
Existing SPSS and AMOS users on university managed Windows computers will be automatically upgraded before the expiry. New users can install SPSS 27 from the Software Center or Self Service. Users on personal devices will need to download the software and follow the instructions on the Software Download site to upgrade to version 27 by 31 August 2021 to continue using the software.
University Managed Windows Devices
Existing SPSS and AMOS users on university managed Windows computers will be automatically upgraded before the expiry.
New users that wish to install SPSS 27 or AMOS 27 on a University Desktop or Laptop, then follow these steps.
• Search for the Software Center and click Open
• From the list of software, select IBM SPSS Statistics 27 or IBM AMOS 27 then Install
• The installation will take from 15 to 60 minutes and it will also remove SPSS 25. You can minimise the installation screen while the software is installing but please do not restart your PC until the installation is complete.
University Managed Macs
To install SPSS 27 on a University Mac, then follow these steps.
• Search for Self Service and click the icon to open it
• Then search for the SPSS 27 icon and click Install.
Personal devices
To install SPSS 27 or SPSS AMOS 27 on a personal device,
• Visit the Software Download Site
• Accept the terms and conditions at the bottom
• Proceed to the correct folder for your product and operating system
• Download the PDF installation instructions and follow them to install and license the software.
• If you already have version 27 installed on your personal MAC, then download and follow the PDF UpdateSPSSmacsinstructionsV27 to update your license.
