Sasha's living the dream

Sasha's living the dream

When Sasha Wight signed up for the MBA course back in January 2019, she had dreams of one day starting her own business. Fast forward to graduation day and Sasha has relocated to Singapore and her new business there is already thriving.

Sasha was attracted to the flexibility the MBA Global course offered as it gave her the flexibility to complete the MBA online which meant she could complete it whilst working and planning her move to Asia. In August 2020 Sasha was able to realise her dream and launched her own consulting business in Singapore whilst at the same time, finishing her final project.

Sasha explains: “My goal was always to launch my own business and I felt the content and collaboration offered at the University of Aberdeen would help me do that.

“I’ve loved my time studying at the University. The experience has been tough but rewarding and has inspired me in so many ways.

“My business ‘wrkflow’ continues to grow, and I have leveraged so much of the content covered in the course to define my strategy and support my clients. I’m proud to now be working with some of the largest organisations in Asia, helping them deliver business outcomes and build an awesome workplace culture. I’m truly applying everything I’ve learned during my time at Aberdeen every day.”

Reflecting on the challenges that the pandemic has brought and continues to bring, Sasha has kept a positive outlook: “Whilst these times are tough, they also provide a lot of opportunities for innovation and unique business opportunities. It has also given me the opportunity to become an employer for the first time.”

“While I wish I could have a 'proper' graduation, it's given me the motivation to keep working hard and applying everything I've learned.

“I am looking forward to growing wrkflow and continuing my research journey! I look forward to expanding my team, my client base and supporting other female entrepreneurs in Asia and beyond. ! I look forward to expanding my team, my client base and supporting other female entrepreneurs in Asia and beyond.”
