What is happening?
University IT Services will be performing critical network maintenance on Saturday 6th February between 9am and 8pm.
During this time period there will be short periods of network disruption each lasting 5 to 10 minutes. It is not possible to be certain of the exact timing of the network outages

Why is this happening?
The maintenance is to replace a core router. Core routers are the IT network equipment that move all the network traffic around campus.
The core routers supporting the University network are being replaced through the University campus during the course of 2021.
NHS computers
NHS Computers based in the above buildings should be considered at risk during the time period. The work taking place does not directly affect the NHS network however we cannot be certain that there will be no impact.
