Tracey Slaven has been appointed as University Secretary and Chief Operating Officer at the University of Aberdeen.
Tracey will be joining us from the University of Edinburgh where she is currently Deputy Secretary, Strategic Planning. At Edinburgh, Tracey is responsible for a broad portfolio including Court Services, Strategic & Business Planning, Student Recruitment & Admissions, Widening Participation, Data Protection & Freedom of Information as well as co-ordination of the submission to REF2021.
Tracey is an experienced governance and change professional who has held senior roles in the Scottish Government, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, the Countryside Agency and in the private sector.
Tracey said “I’m excited to join the University and to help drive forward the ambitions of Aberdeen 2040. This is a challenging time but it is one in which Aberdeen’s community of staff, students and partners can excel.”
