On 11 November the Centre for Scandinavian Studies jointly hosted with the School of LLMVC a Read Aloud event as part of Nordic Literature Week. We gathered in the Sir Duncan Rice library to hear texts read aloud in Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and English - and because of our interests and location, in Old Norse and Doric as well! The (electric-) candlelit event brought a real touch of hygge to a chilly Scottish evening. At the same time, 2558 other institutions internationally were meeting to share the same texts. Our event was a great success, with almost 50 people from the university and wider community in attendance. We look forward to next year!
