SPA Centenary Fellows

SPA Centenary Fellows

The Philosophy department is delighted to announce that it will host three distinguished visiting philosophers in 2019-20, funded by the Scots Philosophical Association Centenary Fellows’ scheme. Each Centenary Fellow will visit Aberdeen for up to three weeks, and will give a public lecture, a research seminar, and a postgraduate workshop while they are here.

Kerstin Andermann (2-23 March) from the Technical University Dresden and Luneburg University, is a specialist in the philosophy of Benedict de Spinoza and political philosophy. Michael Beaney (16-27 March), Humboldt University, is internationally renowned for his research on the history of analytic philosophy and Chinese philosophy. And Joe Ulatowski (27 April-11 May) of Waikato University, New Zealand, specializes in epistemology and has recently been working on the phenomenon of “fake news”.
