An international Students hardship fund has been created by the University of Aberdeen after a campaign led by Student President Lawson Ogubie earlier this year.
This fund will become fully operational from August 2019 and will be jointly administered by AUSA and Student Support.
Student President Lawson Ogubie said: “I am pleased to have worked with the University to establish the Hardship Fund. This is the first time international students will have access to the fund when they are struggling and I consider this a huge step in the right direction to improve their experience at the University.
"AUSA is dedicated to supporting student welfare and the University has demonstrated once more its commitment to improving student experience.”
Principal Professor George Boyne added: “I am delighted that the University, together with AUSA can now offer our international students financial assistance when they need it most. Providing access to a Hardship Fund further cements our commitment to delivering a world-class student experience. “
