Anne-Michelle Slater and Abbe Brown attended a workshop at the University of Northumbria on 9 April 2019 at the invitation of Professor Gita Gill. The interdisciplinary group across law and science explored best practices regarding approaches to uncertainty and precaution. This workshop was the first step in a project funded by the University of Northumbria regarding delivering human rights, health and the Sustainable Development Goals. This is in the context of different types of decision making and environmental governance in India, with particular references to pollution.
The next steps include field work (qualitative and quantitative) and workshops with stakeholders in India, including the Symbiosis University, Pune University and the National Green Tribunal. In addition, an application has been made for a GCRF Research Network award.
