Dr Phillip Cooke's recent work Ave Maria, mater Dei will have its Scottish premiere at The Cumnock Tryst festival.
Phillip’s motet was commissioned by the Genesis Foundation and was first performed by The Sixteen at Eton College Chapel, in May this year – it will receive its Scottish premiere on the 07 October by the same performers at The Cumnock Tryst festival in Ayrshire. The festival was founded by composer Sir James MacMillan, who Phillip has been working closely with over the past two years, and features leading performers from across the world. The Sixteen have recent recorded Phillip’s piece on a CD entitled Star of Heaven which will be available to buy and download on the 02 November.
