Daegyeom Heo (Blake), PhD student in Film and Visual Culture, and Kim Walker, PhD student in Sonic Arts, were selected for the prize from among postgraduate applicants from across Europe. The prize recognises creative talent among early career researchers in the UK and Europe, in particular projects that ‘play with form to make us think, feel and question.’

About the news, Professor Edward Welch, Head of the School of Language, Literature, Music and Visual Culture, said: “We are delighted to learn of the recent success of our two PhD students, Daegyeom Heo and Kim Walker, in being longlisted for this highly competitive prize recognising their creative talents. The School is very proud of their tremendous achievement”

The prize is hosted by the Centre for Modern Literature and Culture at King’s College London and Cove Park, Scotland’s International Artist Residency Centre. The shortlist will be announced in June, with the winner receiving £1,000 and a two-week residency and showcase at Cove Park, Scotland’s International Artist Residency Centre.
