Marine Environment Oil Spills - Impact and Clean-up Strategies

Join Luis Jose Perez Calderon and Lloyd Potts from Aberdeen University to learn about this important topic. Free event. All welcome - booking essential.

Talk will be held on 07 March 2018  from 12:30 - 13:00 in Aberdeen city centre, at the Maritime Museum.

In this illustrated talk, come along and learn how oil spills at sea result in the contamination of coastal and deep sea environments.

Oil can become trapped in sediments and have long-term environmental impacts.

However, naturally occurring microbes have the ability to remove these contaminants.

This process can be improved by remediation strategies to reduce damage to the marine environment.
